Finland – Too much Aflatoxin in the raw material of fig jam

Riitan Herkku Oy has announced that the raw material (fig) of the fig jam it produces may contain too much aflatoxin. The concentration in the raw material may be so high that the products made from it are not suitable for food. For this reason, as a precaution, Riitan Herkku Oy instructs consumers not to use the product.

The error concerns the following batches of the product Riitan Herkku Fig jam, 45 g :

best before 1 October 2024
best before 1 November 2024
best before 3 November 2024

Fig jam has been included in Riitan Herku’s Cheese gift boxes and jam assortments.

India – 80 In Hospital With Food Poisoning After Eating At Wedding In Nagpur Resort

In a case of food poisoning, at least 80 persons were hospitalised as they fell ill after eating food served during a wedding ceremony at a resort on the outskirts of Nagpur city in Maharashtra, police said today.

The incident took place on December 10, following which the businessman father of the bridegroom lodged a complaint against the resort management alleging that the food served during the function was stale and emitted a foul smell, the police said.
