Message:

Arrabawn Co-op is recalling certain batches of milk that are potentially unsafe due to the presence of Enterobacteriaceae bacteria. Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batches.

Nature Of Danger:

Enterobacteriaceae are a group of bacteria, of which some can be harmful to humans. The test for Enterobacteriaceae is used as an indicator of poor hygiene, process failure and/or post-processing contamination of heat processed foods.  The test itself does not confirm the presence of harmful bacteria.

Action Required:

Inspectors:

PEHOs may be advised directly regarding checks to verify that the implicated batches are recalled from sale. Please notify the FSAI (foodincidents@fsai.ie) of any concerns.

Manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, caterers & retailers:

Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batches from sale and to display a point-of-sale recall notice in stores where the affected batches were sold.

Caterers should not use the implicated batches.

Consumers:

Recall details

Ottawa, October 15, 2020 – The food safety warning issued on October 11, 2020 has been updated to a food recall warning and includes additional product information. This additional information was identified during the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s (CFIA) food safety investigation.

Migahid & Elsawi Co. Ltd. is recalling Alwatania brand Liquid Tahina from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled products described below.

What you should do

If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, call your doctor.

Check to see if you have the recalled products in your home. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

Background

This warning was triggered by CFIA test results. The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. If other high-risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings.

The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing the recalled products from the marketplace.

Illnesses

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.

Belgium – Recall of Makro Cash & Carry – Servol brand turkey thigh – Salmonella

In agreement with the AFSCA, Makro Cash & carry is withdrawing the SERVOL brand TURKEY LEGS from sale and is recalling them to consumers because of the possible presence of Salmonella Typhimurium.

Makro asks its customers not to consume this product and to bring it back to the point of sale where it was purchased, the product will be refunded.

USA – Raw Goat Milk and Yogurt recalled after positive E. coli test

Consumers who purchased raw goat milk or raw goat milk yogurt, whey or cottage cheese on or before October 13 produced by Crystal Brook Farm, Lancaster County should immediately discard the products, the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture said today. Tests completed during routine sampling indicated that the products tested positive for a disease-causing strain of E. coli bacteria.

Milk was sold in two Lancaster County locations: Crystal Brook Farm Store, 3568 Scenic Road in Gordonville, the Dutch Meadow Retail Store at 694 Country Lane in Paradise in plastic half gallons. Milk, whey and cottage cheese may have also been further distributed to other retail locations by Dutch Meadows Distribution Center at 753 Country Lane in Paradise.

The company Deli Ostrich NV withdraws from sale the products ‘burger Iberico’, ‘chipolata Iberico’ and ‘Gourmet Iberico’ of the brand Carrefour and recalls them to consumers due to the presence of Salmonella.

The products have already been taken off the shelves. However, some products have already been sold. Consumers who have purchased the affected products are urged not to consume them and to return them to the point of sale. They will be reimbursed.

If you have consumed these products before and you have symptoms such as fever and / or headache, contact your GP. These symptoms can be more serious in children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems.
