QUEBEC CITY , July 29, 2024 /CNW/ – The food recall press release issued on July 24, 2024 has been updated. The affected product may have been sold in several establishments in the Montreal and Laval regions . The Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation (MAPAQ), in collaboration with Aliment Stabile, which operates on the premises of Salami Mondial, located at 3405, boulevard de la Concorde Est, in Laval , is advising the public not to consume the product indicated in the table below, as this food may contain the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus .

The product that is the subject of this warning was offered for sale in several establishments in the Montreal and Laval regions . It was vacuum-packed in a transparent plastic bag. The product was sold refrigerated.
The operator is recalling the product in question. It has agreed with the MAPAQ and the Food Inspection Division of the City of Montreal to issue this warning as a precautionary measure. In addition, people who have this product in their possession are advised not to consume it. They must return it to the establishment where they purchased it or throw it away. Even if the product in question does not show any signs of alteration or suspicious odor, its consumption may represent a health risk.
Staphylococcus food poisoning is characterized by a sudden onset of nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, cramps, and diarrhea. Symptoms usually appear 30 minutes to 8 hours after eating the contaminated food and disappear after 24 hours.
It should be noted that no cases of illness associated with the consumption of this food have been reported to MAPAQ to date.
