Church Brothers and FreshPoint parsley are being recalled for possible Salmonella contamination. This recall information was posted on the FDA’s Enforcement page so there is no mention of any possible illnesses associated with this issue. The recalling firms are Church Brothers LLC of Salinas, California, and FreshPoint South Florida, Inc. of Pompano Beach, Florida.

FLOURPOWER BV asks its customers not to consume this product and to return it on Saturday to the point of sale in which it was purchased.

Danger  : Presence of Listeria monocytogenes

Listeria monocytogenes can cause fever, headache and gastroenteritis. Vulnerable people such as immunocompromised and elderly people and young children may present with neurological symptoms due to meningitis. Pregnant women should also be especially alert to these symptoms. Gastroenteritis can appear between a few hours and 3 days after consumption, while neurological symptoms can only appear after 3 months. People who have consumed these products and have these symptoms are invited to consult a doctor and report this consumption to him.

Updated on 25 January 2023:Further to our media release on 22 January 2023, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has extended the recall to include two additional Jay and Joy products from France due to possible presence of Listeria Monocytogenes. Thisfollowsan additional alert from the European Commission Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) on the two other implicated products. SFA has directed the importer, Eurolink Nutrition Pte. Ltd. to recall these products. The recall is ongoing. Consumers who have purchased the implicated products are advised not to consume it. Those who have consumed the implicated products and have concerns about their health should seek medical advice. Consumers may contact their point of purchase for enquiries.

Message:

Western Brand is recalling expired batches of raw chicken products listed in the table below due to the detection of Salmonella Typhimurium. These products were sold as fresh and are past their use-by date, however, the labels state they are suitable for home freezing. Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale.

Nature Of Danger:

People infected with Salmonella typically develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours after infection, but this can range between 6 and 72 hours.  The most common symptom is diarrhoea, which can sometimes be bloody.  Other symptoms may include fever, headache and abdominal cramps.  The illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days. Diarrhoea can occasionally be severe enough to require hospital admission. The elderly, infants, and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to have a severe illness.
