Slovakia – Cronobacter prompts infant formula recall in Slovakia

A brand of infant formula has been recalled in Slovakia because of Cronobacter sakazakii contamination.

The Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic (UVZSR) said the issue was detected as part of official food controls by authorities. No related illnesses have been reported.

The affected goat’s milk infant formula was made in the Czech Republic by Goldim. The product is “Naše mléko 1” with a date of Oct. 31, 2023, and lot number L430. It is intended for infants up to 6 months of age.

The product was analyzed in an accredited regional public health authority (RÚVZ) laboratory and it did not comply with the microbiological legislation for Cronobacter sakazakii.

UVZSR said this means the formula is considered not to be safe and should be withdrawn from the market.

Lidl Netherlands warns against roasted & salted pistachios and roasted pistachios from the brand ‘Alesto’. An increased amount of Ochratoxin A (a fungal toxin) was found in the products. Ochratoxin A can lead to kidney disease if taken for a long time. Do not eat the products!

Problem: Possible presence of Bacillus Cereus.

The FASFC withdraws “Zencefil” – Ground Ginger of the Basak brand from sale and recalls it from consumers because of a possible presence of Bacillus Cereus.

It has therefore been decided to withdraw this product from sale and to recall it from consumers. Customers who have purchased this product are advised not to consume it and to return it to the point of sale.

Problem: too high content of Ochratoxin A.

In agreement with the FASFC, Carl Wilhelm Clasen GmbH withdraws Pistachios – “Pistazienkerne geroostet” (Roasted pistachios) (70g) and “Pistazienkerne geroostet & gesalzen” (Roasted and salted pistachios) (70g) from the sale and recalls them from consumers because of an excessively high Ochratoxin A content.

Lidl Belgium asks its customers not to consume these products and to return them to the point of sale where they were purchased. You will be reimbursed even without presenting the receipt.
