Finland – Mold toxins in children’s oat bars – Ochratoxin A
Muru Baby Food Oy has announced a recall concerning two children’s oat bars manufactured by the company:
- Muru Baby organic oat bar raspberry 20g, best before 24/01/2024
- Muru Baby organic oat bar carrot 20g, best before 23/01/2024
The recall is due to the fact that ochratoxin A has been detected in the products of those dates above the limit allowed for children’s food. The amount found does not pose an acute health hazard, but prolonged exposure to high concentrations of ochratoxin A may cause adverse effects.
More information for consumers can be found in the bulletin on the company’s website.
The matter is being handled at the Food Agency by Chief Inspector Mika Varjonen, tel. 050 38 68 416 first name.surname@ruokavirasto.fi .
