Radagast Pet Food issued a recall over 3 months ago because of potential listeria contamination. Now, they’re issuing this new recall because follow-up tests have indicated that this cat food could be contaminated with listeria or E. coli bacteria.

As with the previous recall, Radagast Pet Food says no pet or human illnesses have been reported so far. The current recall is limited to the 4 specific lots of Rad Cat Raw Diet listed above.

Ottawa, June 28, 2018 – Goodleaf Community Farms Ltd. is recalling Goodleaf brand Daikon Radish microgreens from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled product described below.

USA – Ham, Lard, and Jerky Recalled

Food Poisoning Bulletin

Three recalls issued by the USDA in the last few days have affected ham, jerky, and pork lard. No illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported in connection with these recalls.

The first recall is for Quay Corporation, recalling pork lard that was produced without federal inspection. About 258,121 pounds of the product are recalled.

The second recall is for Land O’Frost ham products that were misbranded. The front of the package is labeled as Black Forest Ham, and the back is labeled as Honey Smoked Turkey Breast.  The recall was issued after a consumer complaint.

The third recall is for 13m554 pounds of People’s Sausage elk, bison, and beef jerky products that were produced without an approved voluntary grant of inspection. These shelf stable elk and bison jerky and meat stick products were produced on dates from May 3, 2016 to June 15, 2018.

A healthcare manufacturer – which makes medicines for several supermarkets and high street retailers – is recalling 15 batches of its children’s glycerine and blackcurrant cough syrups.

Bell, Sons & Co is pulling own-brand cough syrups from Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Superdrug and Wilko due to reports of mould.

Up to four batches are being recalled from Asda, two from Superdrug and three from Tesco stores.

A statement on the Government’s, Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, website reads: “Penicillium brevicompactum and Penicillium corylophilum can produce mycotoxins. Reactions to these mycotoxins are rare in reported literature but there is a low risk they could induce non-specific toxin reactions that could include rashes, breathing difficulties and Gastro-Intestinal (GI) symptoms.

Bell, Sons & Co (Bells) is recalling 15 batches of the cough syrups listed above to patient-level as a precautionary measure due to a small number of reports of mould.

USA – Now Health Group Inc. Recalls Select Now Real Food® Zesty Sprouting Mix Because of Possible Health Risk

NOW Health Group, Inc. (NOW), of Bloomingdale, Illinois, is recalling its NOW Real Food® Zesty Sprouting Mix – Product Code 7271, Lot #3031259 and Lot #3038165 – because its primary ingredient, Crimson Clover Seeds, has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.  Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis.

Approximately 10,000 units of Zesty Sprouting Mix were distributed online and in retail stores nationwide since December 2017.

USA – E. coli O103 Prompts Meat Recall

Texas Natural Meats, a Lott, Texas establishment, is recalling approximately 489 pounds of frozen raw, ground beef products that may be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) O103, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.The frozen raw, ground beef items were produced on Aug. 8, 2017.
