Sunland, Inc. Announces an Expansion of its Voluntarily Limited Recall of Almond Butter and Peanut Butter To Add Cashew Butter, Tahini and Roasted Blanched Peanut Products Due to Possible Health Risk. This recall includes one pet product – Dogsbutter.
Kasel Associated Industries of Denver, Colorado is recalling its Boots & Barkley 6 count 5 inch American Beef Bully Sticks because it may be contaminated with Salmonella. The bacteria can sicken animals who can pass it to humans, and people can get sick by handling the contaminated product.
The products were distributed nationwide through Target stores from April through September 2012. The pet treats are packed in a clear plastic bag marked with bar code number 647263899189. All lot numbers are recalled. The lot codes that tested positive for Salmonella include BESTBY20APR2014DEN, BESTBY01JUN2014DEN, BESTBY23JUN2014DEN, and BESTBY23SEP2014DEN.
No illnesses have been reported to date in humans or animals in connection with this product.

Contact with reptiles (such as turtles, snakes, and lizards) and amphibians (such as frogs and toads) can be a source of human Salmonella infections. Small turtles, with a shell length of less than 4 inches, are a well-known source of human Salmonella infections, especially among young children. Because of this risk, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has banned the sale and distribution of these turtles since 1975. Amphibians and reptiles can carry Salmonella germs and still appear healthy and clean. Salmonella germs are shed in their droppings and can easily contaminate their bodies and anything in areas where these animals live. Reptiles and amphibians that live in tanks or aquariums can contaminate the water with germs, which can spread to people.

Apex Pet Foods is recalling all of their dry dog food formulas manufactured on January 24, 2012 for possible Salmonella contamination.
Tainted dog food is the source of a Salmonella Infantis outbreak that has sickened 14 people in nine states, five with infections so severe they required hospitalisation, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Over the last week, Diamond Pet Foods has recalled nine brands of dog food due to possible contamination with Salmonella. And five other brands: Natural Balance, Kirkland Signature, Wellpet Solid Gold Health Products, and Apex, have issued related recalls.

Apex Pet Foods announced today that it is issuing a voluntary recall of all dry dog food formulas manufactured on January 24, 2012.
Although there have been no animal or human illnesses related to Apex Dog Food and the product has not tested positive for Salmonella, the company has voluntarily initiated this recall out of caution to ensure the health and safety of consumers and their pets.
Kirkland Signature products are included in the Diamond Pet Foods recall for possible Salmonella contamination. Cat foods are included in this recall.
