Following an inspection and in order to guarantee consumer safety, Deli Ostrich NV is withdrawing from sale the ‘burger Iberico’, ‘chipolata Iberico’ and ‘Gourmet Iberico’ products of the Carrefour brand sold in the butcher’s department of certain Carrefour stores in Belgium. and recalls them to consumers due to the presence of Salmonella.

The company Deli Ostrich NV withdraws from sale the products ‘burger Iberico’, ‘chipolata Iberico’ and ‘Gourmet Iberico’ of the brand Carrefour and recalls them to consumers due to the presence of Salmonella.

The products have already been taken off the shelves. However, some products have already been sold. Consumers who have purchased the affected products are urged not to consume them and to return them to the point of sale. They will be reimbursed.

If you have consumed these products before and you have symptoms such as fever and / or headache, contact your GP. These symptoms can be more serious in children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems.

For more information, consumers can call Carrefour customer service via the free number 0800 / 9.10.11 – working days from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, call your doctor.

Check to see if you have the recalled products in your home. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.

This recall was triggered by a recall in another country. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. If other high-risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings.

The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing the recalled products from the marketplace.

USA – Sauer Brands, Inc. Voluntarily Recalls Certain The Spice Hunter Products Because of Potential Salmonella Contamination

Sauer Brands, Inc. is voluntarily recalling The Spice Hunter Products listed below due to the potential presence of Salmonella. After initially certifying that our raw material had tested negative for Salmonella, and was fit for human consumption, our supplier notified us of the potential presence of salmonella in specific lots of organic parsley that it provided to us. Those lots of parsley were used on two specific days in our production. We are recalling other products produced on those same days out of an abundance of caution regarding potential cross contamination.

While Sauer is aware of no reports of illness to date, that relate to these products, Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. If you are experiencing these symptoms, and believe you may have been exposed to Salmonella, please report to a medical provider.

The Spice Hunter Products in question were distributed to the states of Alaska, Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin. The product was produced for sale at retail and spicehunter.com

Canada – Warning not to consume broccoli microshoots sold by Les Jardins Picoudi – Salmonella

MAPAQ in collaboration with the company Les Jardins Picoudi, based in Saint-Robert, is warning the population not to consume the product indicated in the table below, as this food is likely to contain Salmonella bacteria .

The product that is the subject of this advisory was available for sale at several locations across the province. It was packaged in a transparent rectangular plastic dish and sold refrigerated. The label includes, in addition to the name of the product, the words “PICOUDI”.
The operator is voluntarily recalling the product in question. He agreed with MAPAQ to disseminate this notice as a precautionary measure. It should be noted that no case of illness associated with the consumption of this food has been reported to MAPAQ to date. 
People who have this product in their possession are therefore advised not to consume it. They must either return it to the establishment where they bought it or throw it away. Even if the product does not show any signs of spoilage or a suspicious odor, it may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria 

France – Almost 50 sick in France after eating raw or rare horse meat – Salmonella

French authorities are investigating almost 50 Salmonella infections linked to eating raw or undercooked horse meat in the past few months.

During this summer, Sante publique France identified 20 patients that are part of a cluster of Salmonella Newport cases.

A total of 28 other people were linked to a second cluster of salmonellosis caused  by a different serotype known as monophasic Salmonella Typhimurium (1, 4, [5], 12:i:-) .

In agreement with the AFSCA, Wholefoods is withdrawing Devil’s Claw powder from sale and is recalling it to consumers due to the possible presence of Salmonella.

Wholefoods is asking their customers not to consume this product and to bring it back. A free return label can be requested by sending an email to help@pit-pit.com . Upon receipt of the return, the product will be refunded to you.

USA – Apple Chips recall over Salmonella concern

Food Poison Journal

Seneca Snack Company, a Washington Corporation, is announcing a voluntary recall of Seneca Cinnamon Apple Chips and Clancy’s Cinnamon Apple Chips due to possible Salmonella contamination.

This recall is only for specific cinnamon flavor lot codes, no other flavor apple chips are affected. This only affects Clancy’s product sold by ALDI and Seneca products sold nationwide through Amazon and Gemline, no other retailers are affected.

Seneca is not aware of any reports of consumer illness related to this product.
