Scotland – E.coli outbreak linked to Khushi’s Indian Restaurant in Dunfermline

An outbreak of E.coli 0157 in Fife is still being investigated by NHS Fife’s Public Health Department.

 There is a cluster of five confirmed cases, and six suspected cases, associated with Khushi’s Indian Restaurant in Dunfermline.

NHS Fife said none of the cases are in hospital, and all are recovering at home.

The Southeastern Idaho Public Health Department released a statement today stating that the patrons of Papa Murphy’s in Chubbuck, Idaho may have been exposed to Hepatitis A in April. An employee from the restaurant was diagnosed with the disease on May 2, 2013. There is no evidence of a Hepatitis A outbreak at this time.

USA – E.coli O157 – Outbreak in Leafy Greens

 E.coli outbreak likely caused by leafy greens has sickened five people in Hamilton County, Ohio, Food Poisoning Bulletin has learned. The outbreak was confirmed this morning by  Mike Samet, a public information officer, for the county’s public health department.

There are five confirmed cases and one probable case of  E.coli 0157:H7 infection which were likely caused by tainted leafy greens, he said. The case patients, four females and two males,  range in age from 12 to 83 and first showed signs of illness from December 10 to December 15, 2012
