A total of 154 people infected with the outbreak strains of Salmonella were reported from 34 states from contact with pig ear treats.
Illnesses started on dates ranging from June 10, 2015, to September 13, 2019. Ill people ranged in age from less than 1 year to 90 years, with a median age of 40 years. Seventy (45%) ill people were female. Of 133 ill people with information available, 35 (26%) were hospitalized. No deaths were reported.
Further to FSAI food alert 2019.44, FSAI food alert 2019.44 (Update 1) and FSAI food alert 2019.44 (Update 2), Zorba Delicacies is extending its recall to include the below batches of houmous, due to the possible presence of Salmonella. These products were sold in Aldi stores. Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in affected stores.
George’s Prepared Foods, a Caryville, Tenn. establishment, is recalling approximately 6,444 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) pork sausage patty and turkey sausage patty products that may be contaminated with Salmonella, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
The ready-to-eat pork and turkey sausage patty items were produced on April 19, 2019, April 27, 2019, May 7, 2019 and May 9, 2019. The following products are subject to recall: [View Labels (PDF only)]
The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. M2206T or P-2260T” printed on the package. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.
The problem was discovered when the firm notified FSIS that the firm’s third-party cold storage facility had inadvertently shipped the ready-to-eat products to commerce.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
Ottawa, October 30, 2019 – Fromagerie Bergeron Inc. is recalling Fromagerie Bergeron brand Gouda Curds and “Le Populaire” from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled products described in the link above.
This recall was triggered by the company. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. If other high-risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings.
The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing the recalled products from the marketplace.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.

The Moby Dick House of Kabob Salmonella outbreak has sickened 33 people in two states and the District of Columbia. This outbreak was first announced on September 26, 2019 by the Maryland Department of Health. There are no notices of the outbreak on the Virginia Department of Heath or the Washington, D.C. Department of Health Websites.
