Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

Action taken by the company

Tesco is recalling the above product. The company has issued a recall notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. Please see the attached notice.

McCaughey Foods is recalling Glensallagh Salt & Chilli Roast Chicken Wings because Listeria monocytogenes has been found in the product. This product is only sold in Lidl stores in Northern Ireland.

Risk statement

The presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the product listed above.

Symptoms caused by this organism can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis.

Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems.

Action taken by the company

McCaughey Foods is recalling the above product. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. Please see the attached notice.

In agreement with the AFSCA, NONNA is withdrawing the products “WRAP SAUMON, BUN SAUMON, TRIANGLE SAUMON, POLAIRE SAUMON” of the Nonna brand from sale and recalling them from consumers due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes.

Food contaminated with E. coli O121 may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, mild to severe abdominal cramps and watery to bloody diarrhea. In severe cases of illness, some people may have seizures or strokes, need blood transfusions and kidney dialysis or live with permanent kidney damage. In severe cases of illness, people may die.
