Catalonia – Extension of information on the alert for the presence of Salmonella Enteritidis in soft cheese made with raw sheep’s milk

As an extension of the alert for the presence of Salmonella in soft cheese made with raw sheep’s milk from the Formatgeria Mas d’Eroles de Catalunya brand, it is reported that two cheeses made with raw sheep’s milk are being recalled sheep

The data of the products involved are:

Product 1

  • Product name: CARREU NATURAL / CARREU HERBES DEL PYRENEES / CARREU CÚRCUMA
  • Brand: FORMATGERIA MAS D’EROLES
  • Product appearance: whole garment
  • Batch numbers:  110624, 260624, 230724, 300724 and 210524.
  • Unit weight:  400-550 g
  • Temperature: Refrigeration

Product 2

  • Product name: SERRAT DE CORRONCUI
  • Brand: FO RMATGERIA MAS D’EROLES
  • Product appearance: whole garment
  • Batch number: 
  • Unit weight:  500-600 g
  • Temperature:  Refrigeration

According to the information available, the products have been distributed in Catalonia. 

The Public Health Agency of Catalonia has communicated this information to the Spanish Food Safety and Nutrition Agency through the  European Food Alert Network .

The market withdrawal of the affected products from the marketing channels is being monitored by the competent authorities.

As a precautionary measure,  people who may have the above-mentioned products in their homes are advised to refrain from consuming them.

If you have consumed any of the products from the affected batch and present symptoms compatible with salmonellosis (mainly diarrhea and/or vomiting accompanied by fever and headache) it is recommended to go to a health center.
