As a precautionary measure, Willowbrook Foods Newtownards Northern Ireland is initiating a recall of various salad products containing bacon, due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes. The implicated batches were sold in Aldi, Lidl and SuperValu stores. Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in the stores which sold the affected batches advising customers not to eat these batches.

FSAI – Recall of Golden Sun Bio Organic Amaranth Grains, Sold in Lidl, Due to Detection of Salmonella

As a precautionary measure, Estyria Naturprodukte GmbH is recalling all batches of Golden Sun Bio Organic Amaranth, which were sold in Lidl stores.  As part of routine testing, Salmonella was detected in the product.  Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores that sold this product.

Ireland – Shellfish Recall – Possible Illness – DSP

Following reports of illnesses associated with diarrhetic shellfish poisoning (DSP) in Ireland, Shellfish De La Mer, Castletownbere, Co. Cork is recalling the above two batches of frozen cooked mussel meats, which were sold by Dunnes Stores and Tesco Ireland.  The implicated batches have been removed from sale.  A point of sale recall notice should be displayed in stores informing customers not to eat the implicated mussel meats.

Ireland – FSAI – Recall – Smoked Salmon – Listeria monocytogenes

As a precautionary measure, Clarke’s Fish Exports Ltd. is recalling batches of the above farmed oak smoked salmon due to the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in some batches.  The affected smoked salmon was supplied to distributors, on-line customers and retail shops.  Clarke’s Organic Farmed Smoked Salmon is not affected by this recall.

 

Ireland – FSAI – Plum Baby Foods Recall – Microbial Spoilage

Plum Baby Foods has identified a manufacturing defect on some packs of the above six new varieties of baby food causing the contents to spoil.  Where the seal has failed, the pouch will either have leaked or bloated. In the unlikely event of consumption, there will be a sour taste or ‘off’ flavour. Plum Baby Foods has received no reports of associated illness. Plum Baby Foods is recalling the implicated batches of the listed products. No other Plum Baby Food products are affected by this recall. Customers are asked to return implicated pouches to the retailer. No action is required by official agencies.

Ireland – FSAI Recall – Smoked Mackerel – Listeria monocytogenes

The implicated batch of Kari smoked mackerel is being recalled from consumers due to the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in a sample tested in Poland. The batch was sold nationwide, mainly in Eastern European supermarkets.  Shops which have sold this batch must display a point-of-sale notice advising customers not to consume the implicated batch.

Ireland – Recall Fruit Platters – Salmonella

Freshcut Food Services Limited is recalling SuperValu Fruit Platter with chocolate 685g; Green Orchard Exotic Fruit Salad 400g; Green Orchard Watermelon Wedge 800g and Green Orchard Fruit Platter with dipping chocolate 685g manufactured by them using watermelon from Costa Rica which may be contaminated with Salmonella. Consumers who have already purchased the implicated fruit products should not consume them as they could cause Salmonellosis. Symptoms of Salmonellosis include diarrhoea, stomach cramps, vomiting and fever 12-72 hours after consumption.
