E.F.E.T. and in particular the Regional Directorate of Epirus, while carrying out checks in the framework of the Program “Official Control for the Monitoring of Microbiological Food Safety Criteria” of the year 2024, sampled smoked eel, with the trade name “SMOKED FILLET” with batch number 1117324146 and date expires on 29/08/2024, which is produced and packaged in Greece by the company V. GEITONAS & SIA E.E. which is based in Psathotopi Artas. After the examination by the Veterinary Laboratory of Ioannina, the presence of the pathogenic microorganism Listeria monocytogenes was found in the above sample .
