The Public Health Agency of Catalonia has received from the Spanish Agency for Food Safety, through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI), an alert notification sent by the health authorities of the Autonomous Community of La Rioja, regarding regarding the presence of high levels of histamine in tuna in sunflower oil of the MONTEY and DIDILO brand.
The product involved is the following:
- Product name (on the label): Tuna in sunflower oil
- Trademark: MONTEY and DIDILO
- Appearance, weight and packaging: 1Kg can (RO900 format)
- Batch number: L03922JC
- Preferential consumption date: 02/08/2027
- Storage temperature: room
The manufacturing company and the distribution companies have initiated the withdrawal of the product from sale and the recovery of the product from consumers.
The competent authorities are verifying the withdrawal of the product affected by the marketing channels.
With the information available, there is no record in Spain of any reported case associated with this alert.
It is recommended that people who have this product at home refrain from consuming it and return it to the point of sale.
