Spain – Presence of Listeria monocytogenes in an organic vegan cheese

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition has informed the Public Health Agency of Catalonia (ASPCAT) through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI) of an alert notification initiated by the health authorities of Germany regarding the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in an “organic vegan cheese”.

The product involved is:

  • Product Name (on label): Vegan organic cheese alternative ( Spécialité végétale au lait almond )
  • Trademark: JAY & JOY
  • Lot number: 24/03/2022
  • Expiry date: 29/05/2022
  • Developer: JAY & JOY (France).

The responsible company has announced its withdrawal from the market and this will be supervised by the competent authorities.
