It is the product “Bavaria blu Der Würzige 300g” with the best before date August 29, 2022 and the license plate number “4006402020550”, as the company announced on Tuesday evening. Batches 0102 and 0140 are affected. The product is being recalled as a precaution. The cheese was sold in Bavaria and Austria.
During an internal routine check, Listeria was found in a sample during monitoring. No listeria could be detected in the end products. However, it cannot be completely ruled out that the end product may contain Listeria . Consumers who have bought this product are asked not to consume it. In particular, pregnant women, the elderly and people with a weakened immune system can develop serious illnesses with blood poisoning and meningitis.
The following retail chains may be affected in Austria: Brugger, Eurogast, Grissemann, Kastner, Louiz, Metro, Pfeiffer GH, REWE (AGM C+C markets / BILLA PLUS), WEDL, Winkler.
The information can be found on the back of the packaging. Other products / batch numbers and best-before dates are not affected and can be consumed without hesitation.
Customers who have bought the product in question can return it to the food retailer for a refund of the purchase price, even without presenting the receipt.
