Listeria and cheddar cheese

Lactalis Denmark is recalling a batch of Cahill’s Porter Cheddar cheese, as there is a risk of listeria in the product.

Company recalling:
Lactalis Denmark, Industrivej 14, 3320 Skævinge
Cause:
The foreign manufacturer has established that there is a risk of the presence of the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes in the product.
Risk:
Infection with listeria bacteria, where the symptoms can include flu-like symptoms, fever and headaches and in rare cases gastrointestinal problems. Read more about the risks of listeria in foods here . 
Advice for consumers:
The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration advises consumers to deliver the product back to the store where it was purchased or to discard it.
