The Guidebook contains current protocols for analytical tests required by FSIS regulatory activities on meat, poultry and egg products. 1 Specifically, microbiological methods are presented for sample preparation, isolation and identification of the major foodborne pathogenic microorganisms and their toxins, meat tissue species identification, and the detection of antimicrobial residues. Appendices include a pathogen method summary chart, method flow charts, Media and Reagent formulations, and Most Probable Number Tables.

Nutriom LLC of Lacey, WA, is recalling approximately 226,710 pounds of processed egg products that may be contaminated with Salmonella,the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Saturday.
