Practical information about the recall
Reason for the recallPresence Salmonella, Escherichia coliRisks to the consumerEscherichia coli Salmonella spp (agent responsible for salmonellosis) Conduct to be followed by the consumerStop using No longer Use the product Return the product to the point of sale Destroy the product Health recommendationsEscherichia coli can cause gastroenteritis marked by abdominal pain and diarrhoea (possibly accompanied by blood) within 3 days of consumption, with or without fever. People who have consumed the products mentioned above and who present this type of symptoms are invited to consult their doctor without delay and inform him or her of this consumption and the nature of the contaminating germ. Foodborne illnesses caused by salmonella result in sudden onset of gastrointestinal disorders (diarrhoea, vomiting) often accompanied by fever and headache that generally occur 6 to 72 hours after consumption of contaminated products. These symptoms may be more pronounced in young children, pregnant women, immunocompromised individuals and the elderly. People who have consumed these products and who have these symptoms are invited to consult their doctor and report this consumption. If there are no symptoms within 7 days of consuming the affected products, there is no need to worry and consult a doctor. If the product must be cooked before consumption: cooking the products (hard-boiled eggs, pastries, poultry meat, etc.) at +65°C destroys these bacteria and prevents the consequences of such contamination. Product Identification:

Please see table below.
Country Of Origin:
Ireland
Message:
The below branded potted coriander products are being recalled by O’Hanlon Herbs due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes. Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale in stores.
There is currently no evidence that this food recall is linked with the listeriosis outbreak related to ready-to-heat meals or the recall of spinach and mixed leaves products. Please see this News Article.
06/08/25: Please refer to 2025.39 Update 1 to identify implicated batches.
Symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes infection can include mild flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications. Some people are more vulnerable to Listeria monocytogenes infections, including pregnant women, babies, and people with weakened immune systems, including the elderly. The incubation period (time between initial infection and first symptoms appearing) is on average 3 weeks but can range between 3 and 70 days.
