The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition has been made aware through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI), of an alert notification sent by the health authorities of Catalonia regarding the presence of Salmonella in fuet.
The company itself has reported the incident to the competent authorities, in compliance with the legislation and in order not to make unsafe food available to the population.

According to the information available, the initial distribution has been to the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Aragon, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Cantabria, Catalonia, Valencian Community and Madrid, as well as to France, Portugal and Andorra, althoughit is not ruled out that there may be redistributions to other autonomous communities.
This information has been transferred to the competent authorities of the autonomous communities through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI) in order to verify the withdrawal of the affected products from the marketing channels.
People who have products affected by this alert in their homes are recommended to refrain from consuming them.
In the event of having consumed any of the products of the affected batches and presenting any symptoms compatible with salmonellosis (mainly diarrhea and/or vomiting accompanied by fever and headache), it is recommended to go to a health center.
