UK -Alivini recalls Italcarciofi Friarielli (Turnip Top Leaf in sunflower oil) – Botulinum

Alivini Company Limited has taken the precautionary step of recalling 1062 ml jars of Italcarciofi Friarielli (Turnip top leaf in sunflower oil), because preliminary investigations by the National Institute of Health in Italy suggested the product could have been associated with three suspected botulism cases in Italy.

Risk

Botulism is a serious form of food poisoning and can be fatal. The association between the product and the suspected botulism cases has not been confirmed. However, a recall from customers is being carried out as a precautionary measure.
