Millions of chickens carrying superbug strains of the food-poisoning bacteria campylobacter end up in supermarkets, a study has found.
Some 73 per cent of chickens sold in the High Street in 2014-15 were carrying campylobacter, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
Research published yesterday reveals that 75 per cent of these were resistant to at least one antibiotic or antimicrobial.
