UK -Salmonella in Spice

Coventry Telegraph

A popular spice product is being recalled from supermarket shelves across the country – because of fears it may contain SALMONELLA.

TRS Wholesale Company Ltd issued an initial alert in March, after they recalled products after the bacterium was found.

And now the company is extending the product recall to include a new batch.

Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause food poisoning, with symptoms ranging from diarrhoea and a fever to abdominal cramps.

It usually lasts four to seven days, after symptoms develop between 12 to 72 hours post-consumption of contaminated foods.

In extreme cases, diarrhoea and dehydration may be so severe that hospital treatment is required.

In a statement on the Food Standards Agency (FSA) website, it was revealed the company is recalling its Dhania (Coriander) Powder amid health concerns.
