First Post – TLAS

Well 2011 is upon us and a new year in the food and pharmaceutical testing laboratory commences. One of the major differences for food testing laboratories this year is the start of the TLAS or Tesco Laboratory Approvel Scheme. As many of you will know this scheme has had a few hiccups along the way but its introduction from the 1st January 2011 has already started. If any of you are still having problems please feel free to add your comments.

At present the TLAS web site is showing all laboratories as authorised but not yet apporved I think  this is to allow for the backlog of work and Campden getting the schedules to Tesco.

One point for you all to remember is that the TLAS is only for Salmonella, Ecoli 0157, Listeria Detection and Enumeration and Campylobacter and even then only on Tesco finished products.
