“This is a correction to the company’s press release, previously issued on June 17, 2025, to clarify events leading up to the recall.”

Fuentes Farms of McAllen, Texas is recalling 71 Boxes of Fresh Cucumbers, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

Product was distributed in Texas by local vendors at the Flea Markets in the McAllen and Alamo Areas.

The affected product has a Fuentes Farm Label with Lot number 357. Boxes are 40Lbs 1-1/9-bushel boxes, which read vegetables and have a black background.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this recall and the recall is not part of any current food outbreaks; However, out of an abundance of caution, Fuentes Farms LLC is notifying all customers and urging anyone who may have purchased the item at the flea market or sold cucumbers from Lot # 357. If you purchased cucumbers at the flea market with this label, during the specified dates of May 31st to June 3rd discontinue sale or consumption of the product.

The recall was as the result of a routine sample performed by the FDA, which revealed that the finished products contained the bacteria. The company has ceased the production and distribution of the product as FDA and the company continue their investigation as to what caused the problem.

Consumers who believe they may have purchased cucumbers from Lot # 357 are advised to dispose of the product or return it to the place of purchase. Listeria monocytogenes is found naturally in the environment and can in rare cases occur in raw materials for food production. Listeria can grow at low temperatures, and in foods with a long shelf life, it can grow to a high number of bacteria. The bacterium survives freezing. Long-lasting products that are eaten raw pose a particular risk.

For the vast majority, low levels of the bacterium are harmless, but for some risk groups such as the elderly, people with weakened immune systems and pregnant women, the bacterium can lead to illness if the product is eaten without heat treatment.

Colruyt Lowest Prices, Okay and Comarché are recalling the products Chipolata ± 350 g, Chipolata ± 490 g, Okay Chipolatas ± 500 g and Okay Chipolata BBQ 2 x ± 250 g.

During microbiological checks at the supplier, the possible presence of Salmonella was found in a sample of Chipolata ± 350 g, Chipolata ± 490 g, Okay Chipolatas ± 500 g and Okay Chipolata BBQ 2 x ± 250 g with a use-by date of 10/6/2025.

In consultation with the FASFC, Colruyt Lowest Prices, Okay and Comarché have therefore decided to withdraw the affected products from sale.

Customers who have purchased these products are advised not to consume them and to bring them back to the store, where they will be refunded. In the meantime, all stores have removed the affected products from the shelves.

Possible symptoms of Salmonella poisoning

Possible symptoms of Salmonella poisoning include fever, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. These symptoms usually appear within 12 to 48 hours after ingestion.

Symptoms usually last 4 to 7 days, and most people recover without specific treatment. Young children, pregnant women, immunocompromised people and the elderly are among the risk groups. In these people, the symptoms can be severe to the point of requiring hospitalization of the patient.

People who have consumed this product and who have this type of symptoms are invited to consult their doctor and report this consumption.

Hofood99 Inc of Brooklyn, NY 11231 is recalling its 200g packages of Enoki Mushroom, because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy persons may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

The recalled Enoki Mushrooms were distributed nationwide in retail stores. The product comes in a 200g, green plastic package marked with UPC Barcode 6 976532 310051 on the back label, distributed by Hofood99 Inc., 21903 56^th Ave Oakland Gardens, NY 11364.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.

The contamination was discovered after samples were collected from a store in Michigan and subsequent analysis by Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development (MDARD) Laboratory Division revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes.

June 10, 2025, Bornstein Seafoods of Bellingham, Washington is recalling 44,550 Lbs. of Cooked & Peeled Ready-To-Eat Coldwater Shrimp Meat (see table below for multiple lot codes) because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

Product was distributed directly to distributors and retailers in California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia of Canada. Products may have been further distributed and sold at retailers nationwide.

Product can be identified under Bornstein Seafoods branded packaging in 1 lb. or 5 lb. plastic bag. The market name is Shrimp. The affected product has the lot code printed at the lower left corner of master case label and at the bottom on the back side of 1 lb. or 5 lb. bag:

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was the result of the firm’s routine sampling program and Listeria monocytogenes was detected in an in-process shrimp sample in a food production environment. The company has ceased the distribution of the product as the company continues our root cause investigation as to what caused the problem.

This recall is being made with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
