Asian Food Import AS recalls Enoki mushrooms from China, via the Netherlands, after discovery of the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes
Asian Food Import AS acquired Enoki mushroom from a supplier in the Netherlands on 19 June. May 2025. German authorities have notified the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, after Listeria monocytogeneswere detected from the same batch.Published28.05.2025
Listeria is a bacterium found in the environment. Listeria can pose a health hazard to pregnant women or people with weakened immune systems. The product is marked on the back with “must be cooked before consumption”. The Norwegian Food Safety Authority considers that this warning is not clear enough, because the labelling regulations state that mandatory information and warnings in Norway must be labelled in Norwegian. Insufficient heating of the mushrooms can lead to a health hazard for the consumer.
The product was delivered on 19 May to Yellow Strømmen AS, Mango mat at Tiller/Trondheim, Jincheng at Hønefoss, Norvina in Stavanger, Asiabutikken Kristiansand and Afood Porsgrunn AS. The stores have been told to stop selling the product.
When stored in the refrigerator, the product can have a shelf life of 1-2 weeks. If the consumer has the product at home, they can throw it away or return it to the store.Product NameSuper fruta – Enoki mushroomEnterprise recalling the itemAsian Food Import ASBatch Number

The above batch of Super Fruta Enoki Mushrooms is being recalled due to detection of Listeria monocytogenes. Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale.
Nature Of Danger:
Symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes infection can include mild flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications. Some people are more vulnerable to Listeria monocytogenes infections, including pregnant women, babies, and people with weakened immune systems, including the elderly. The incubation period (time between initial infection and first symptoms appearing) is on average 3 weeks but can range between 3 and 70 days.
Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batch from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale.
Wholesalers/distributors are requested to contact their affected customers and recall the implicated batch and provide a point-of-sale recall notice to their retailer customers.
Caterers should not use the implicated batch.
Consumers:
Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batch.
The above batch of Loughpark Farm Raw Milk is being recalled due to the possible presence of Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC). Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale.
Nature Of Danger:
Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC), also known as verocytotoxigenic E. coli (VTEC), are a specific group of E. coli. While most E. coli are harmless and live in the intestines of healthy humans, STEC produce a powerful toxin which can cause severe illness. Symptoms include abdominal cramps and diarrhoea which is sometimes bloody. Usually there is little or no fever, and patients recover within 5 to 10 days. In some people however, particularly children under 5 years of age and the elderly, the infection can cause a complication called haemolytic uraemic syndrome (HUS), in which the red blood cells are destroyed and the kidneys can stop working properly. The time between the initial infection and the first symptoms appearing is typically between 3 and 4 days but can range between 1 and 8 days.
