McCormack Family Farms is recalling Spinach and Mixed Leaves products because they contain Listeria monocytogenes. This recall has been extended to include additional products and batches. Please see them marked with * in the product details table.

Symptoms caused by Listeria monocytogenes can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications such as meningitis.
Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems.
Action taken by the company
McCormack Family Farms is recalling the above products. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling these products. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products. Copies of the notices are attached.
If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be ‘withdrawn’ (taken off the shelves) or ‘recalled’ (when customers are asked to return the product). The FSA issues Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food. In some cases, a ‘Food Alert for Action’ is issued. This provides local authorities with details of specific action to be taken on behalf of consumers.
The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has been informed by the Autonomous Community of Catalonia, through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI), of the presence of Salmonella in fuet of several brands.People who have the products included in this alert at home are recommended to refrain from consuming them.
The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition has been made aware through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI), of an alert notification sent by the health authorities of Catalonia regarding the presence of Salmonella in fuet.
The company itself has reported the incident to the competent authorities, in compliance with the legislation and in order not to make unsafe food available to the population.

According to the information available, the initial distribution has been to the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Aragon, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Cantabria, Catalonia, Valencian Community and Madrid, as well as to France, Portugal and Andorra, althoughit is not ruled out that there may be redistributions to other autonomous communities.
This information has been transferred to the competent authorities of the autonomous communities through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI) in order to verify the withdrawal of the affected products from the marketing channels.
People who have products affected by this alert in their homes are recommended to refrain from consuming them.
In the event of having consumed any of the products of the affected batches and presenting any symptoms compatible with salmonellosis (mainly diarrhea and/or vomiting accompanied by fever and headache), it is recommended to go to a health center.

Further to FSAI Food Alert 2025.39, the table below is updated with corrected product traceability details of certain potted coriander products, which are being recalled by O’Hanlon Herbs due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes. Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale in stores.
There is currently no evidence that this food recall is linked with the listeriosis outbreak related to ready-to-heat meals or the recall of spinach and mixed leaves products. Please see this News Article.
Symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes infection can include mild flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications. Some people are more vulnerable to Listeria monocytogenes infections, including pregnant women, babies, and people with weakened immune systems, including the elderly. The incubation period (time between initial infection and first symptoms appearing) is on average 3 weeks but can range between 3 and 70 days
