Tokmanni Oy has announced that it will withdraw one batch of flavoured, frosted peanuts from sale; Bandito Crunchy Peanut 100 g Hot Spicy (EAN 8710998456889). In studies, the batch in question, which has a best-before date of 18 November 2025, has been found to contain aflatoxin above the limit value set in EU legislation.
The defective batch has been on sale in Tokmanni chain stores for the first half of the year.
According to Tokmanni, customers can return the products they have purchased without a receipt to a Tokmanni store, where the price of the product will be refunded.

Health recommendationsBotulism is a rare disease that most often results from the consumption of contaminated food containing botulinum toxin produced by Clostridium botulinum. This toxin develops in particular in canned goods or delicatessen products made by family or artisanal manufacturers for which the sterilization process has not been mastered. Symptoms usually appear 12 to 72 hours after ingesting contaminated food, but they can develop earlier or later (2 hours to 10 days).
