The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department today (July 29) urged the public not to consume a batch of imported prepackaged salami, as the product might have been contaminated with Salmonella, a pathogen. The trade should stop using or selling the affected batch of the product immediately if they possess it.
Product details are as follows:
Product name: Primo Reserve Hot Sopressa Salami Brand: Primo Pack size: 80 grams Place of origin: Australia Use-by date: September 9, 2025 Distributor: Parknshop (HK) Limited
A spokesman for the CFS said, “The CFS, through its Food Incident Surveillance System, noted a notification from the Singapore Food Agency that the above-mentioned product might have been contaminated by Salmonella and is being recalled. Upon learning of the incident, the CFS immediately followed-up the case. A preliminary investigation found that the above-mentioned distributor had sold the affected product.”
The distributor concerned has stopped sales, removed from shelves the affected product and has initiated a recall according to the CFS’s instructions. Members of the public may call its hotline at 2606 8658 during office hours for enquiries about the recall.
“Salmonella infection may cause fever and gastrointestinal upset such as vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhoea. The effects on infants, young children, the elderly and persons with a weak immune system could be more severe and may even lead to death,” the spokesman said.
The CFS will alert the trade to the incident, and will continue to follow up and take appropriate action. The investigation is ongoing.

Message:
The above batch of Eat & Go Roast Chicken Pesto Pasta With Cheese is being recalled due to the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale. There is currently no evidence that this food recall is linked with the listeriosis outbreak related to ready-to-heat meals or the recall of spinach and mixed leaves products.
Nature Of Danger:
Symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes infection can include mild flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications. Some people are more vulnerable to Listeria monocytogenes infections, including pregnant women, babies, and people with weakened immune systems, including the elderly. The incubation period (time between initial infection and first symptoms appearing) is on average 3 weeks but can range between 3 and 70 days.
Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batch from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale.
Wholesalers/distributors are requested to contact their affected customers and recall the implicated batch and provide a point-of-sale recall notice to their retailer customers.

Additional Tuna Salad products
Company Announcement
Albertsons, Randalls and Tom Thumb stores in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas are voluntarily recalling select items containing tuna salad supplied by Reser’s Fine Foods. This action follows a recall initiated by Reser’s Fine Food due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes in breadcrumbs used as an ingredient in their tuna salad.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
Consumers who have purchased these items are urged not to consume these products and to dispose of them or return the items to their local store for a full refund. The FDA recommends in these cases that anyone who purchased or received any recalled products to use extra vigilance in cleaning and sanitizing any surfaces and containers that may have come in contact with these products to reduce the risk of cross-contamination. Listeria monocytogenes can survive in refrigerated temperatures and can easily spread to other foods and surfaces.
There have been no reports of injuries or adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
The items containing tuna salad were available for purchase at the following banner stores: Albertsons, Randalls and Tom Thumb in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
Consumers with questions should contact Albertsons Companies’ Customer Service Center at 1-877-723-3929 Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. PST.
