Alert for the presence of Salmonella in chicken burger meat from Spain (Ref. ES2025/205)

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition has been made aware through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI), of an alert notification sent by the health authorities of Andalusia regarding the presence of Salmonella spp, in the chicken burger meat product of the brand SELECCIÓN DE DÍA.

The details of the product involved are:

  • Product Name: CHICKEN BURGER MEAT
  • Brand Name: DAY SELECTION
  • Product appearance: Packaged in a plastic tray with 6 units of 90 g.
  • Batch number: 250969
  • Expiry date: 19/04/2025
  • Unit weight: 540 g
  • Temperature: Refrigerated

According to the information available, the initial distribution has been to the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Asturias, Aragon, Valencia, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Galicia and Madridalthoughit is not ruled out that there may be redistributions to other autonomous communities.

This information has been transferred to the competent authorities of the autonomous communities through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI), in order to verify the withdrawal of the affected products from the marketing channels.

People who have products affected by this alert in their homes are recommended to refrain from consuming them.

In the event of having consumed any of the products of the affected batches and presenting any symptoms compatible with salmonellosis (mainly diarrhea and/or vomiting accompanied by fever and headache), it is recommended to go to a health center.
