Denmark – Salmonella in dried fish

CANCELED. Several specialist shops are recalling dried fish (yellow striped trevally) from BDMP, as Salmonella has been found in the product. The product should be returned to the store where it was purchased or discarded.

The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration has received more information about the product and considers it no longer dangerous.

The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration no longer advises returning the product to the store or discarding it.

Why is the product being recalled?

Salmonella has been found in the product. The symptoms of infection with Salmonella are diarrhoea, abdominal pain, fever, headache and possibly nausea and vomiting. The illness can last from a few days to several weeks.

What should you do as a consumer?

The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration advises consumers to return the product to the store where it was purchased, or discard it.
If you experience symptoms in connection with consuming the product, you should contact your own doctor.
