FIFTY-three Muslim students from undetermined regions in the country were admitted in two private hospitals in Cebu City after they suffered from suspected food poisoning. The 53 Muslim students were part of the National Musabaqa Convention held at the Cebu Ecotech Center in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City. Nagiel Banacia, Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer, told SunStar Cebu that the students reportedly ate stewed squid and tuna sandwiches before suffering from stomachache, vomiting and diarrhea.
