UK – Haggis and black pudding recalled over botulism fears

Metro

A food company has been forced to recall some of its haggis and black pudding products after they were caught up in a ‘killer’ food poisoning scare. The Farmer’s Son, based at Clentrie Farm, Auchtertool, near Edinburgh, issued a recall for its Haggis Bungs, Haggis 4 Slice and Black Pudding 4 Slice products on Saturday.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) confirmed the decision was related to the toxin production of Clostridium botulinum, which could cause a serious form of food poisoning called botulism.
