| Reason For Issuing Alert | – The Centre for Food Safety (CFS), through its Food Incident Surveillance System, learned of the notices issued by the UK Food Standards Agency and Food Safety Authority of Ireland that the manufacturer of the products is recalling the affected batches of products because of a production error that may pose a microbiological risk. | |
| Action Taken by the Centre for Food Safety | – The CFS immediately followed up with Marks & Spencer, the importer of the affected products in Hong Kong. According to the information provided by the importer, the above-mentioned products were imported to Hong Kong for sale in its retail outlets only. It has already stopped sale and removed from shelves the affected batches of products, and initiated a recall.
– The CFS will continue to follow up and take appropriate action. Investigation is ongoing. |
