Dubai: The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) on Sunday said the UAE market is free from salmonella contaminated chocolate.
“Following the information circulated about Chocolate maker Mars recalling some of its stock of Galaxy, Malteasers and Minstrels confectionery from markets in the United Kingdom and Ireland, due to the potential presence of salmonella, MOCCAE has contacted Mars UAE and reassured consumers that the products available locally are not imported from either the UK or Ireland,” the ministry said in a statement.
Majd Mohammad Al Herbawi, Director of Food Safety Department at MOCCAE, reiterated that the UAE markets are free from salmonella contaminated chocolate products.
