Uoriki Fresh of New Jersey is recalling its Octopus Salad sold at one Wegmans Food Market store in that state because it tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. The store is located in Manalapan, NJ. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of this product, but listeriosis, the illness caused by this bacteria, can take up to 70 days to appear.
The Octopus Salad was packaged in an 8 ounce plastic tray or sold by the pound in the seafood department with the label Wegmans Fresh Octopus Salad. It was sold from December 18 – 24, 2015, and labeled with “best before” dates ranging from December 21 – 24, 2015.
