USA – Sliced Apples – Listeria monocytogenes

Packages of Sun Rich apple slices are being recalled in 10 states for Listeria. The recalled products were sold at Subway sandwich shops, at other retail stores and through food service. They were distributed to IL, IN, KY, MI, MN, MO, ND, OH, WI and WV.

In Canada, where they were also recalled, they were sold at Subway sandwich shops and Starbucks stores and one illness was reported.

Sun-Rich apples slices that are being recalled for Listeria were served to students in Wa-Nee, Indiana school district.  students were served packaged apples at lunch this week that have been recalled by the manufacturer due to possible listeria bacteria contamination.

USA – Chopped Walnuts Recalled for Possible Salmonella Risk

John B. Sanfilippo & Son Inc. of Elgin, IL, announced Friday that it is voluntarily recalling Fisher brand chopped walnuts packaged in 10-ounce plastic bags because some of these products may be contaminated with Salmonella.

To date, the company has not received any reports of illnesses in connection with the items listed above.
